Fri 15 June 2025 | Kianus Robeson Guitar RecitalBack by popular demand in the beautiful main church of Christ Church Blacklands, Kianush will perform a short afternoon recital.Kianush has participated in many international competitions and won a gold award in the IFA International Classical Guitar Competiton in 2020 placed as finalist in the Houston International Guitar Competition 2021 and semi-finalist in the London Guitar Competition 2020. The event starts at 3pm, entry Free, refreshments provided, cash and card donations requested to support the concert series.

Fri 5 April 2025 | Sierra Leone QuizAs in previous years Blacklands Church put forward a team for a fantastically well attended Quiz Night in aid of Sierra Leone.After waiting until the last round to play their joker card the team surged ahead to win the event by 3 points. All in all the event raised £1500 for the charity so was a successful evening all round.

Mon 25 March 2025 | Easter QuizOn March 24th we will be having a very easy Easter Quiz in the Church Hall followed by the usual raffle, tea/coffee and cake.If you've not been before, why not come and give us a try. we are a friendly group, that enjoy nothing more than a cuppa and a natter along with whatever activity is occurring. We look forward to seeing you all with more fun and friendship in Fellowship.

Sun 22 Dec 2024 | Christmas Carol ServiceThanks to everyone who came to the church on the Sunday before Christmas to celebrate and sing along at our carol service. It was a beautiful service with mince pies and mulled wine enjoyed by all afterwards.

Mon 9 Dec 2024 | Biffa Award - Church RoofWith many thanks to Biffa Award for their generous award of a grant for the cost, we now have a new roof for our hall. A big thank you also to LALCO Property Maintenance for all their work on the roof and the new hall ceiling.

Sun 9 Nov 2024 | Remembrance DayThis years Remembrance day at Blacklands Church saw a full congregation including members of the 6th Hastings scouts, beavers, cubs and squirrels in remembrance and observing a silence at 11am. Wreaths were laid by the scouts in the Babtistry as well as at the memorial in the grounds as well as the scout group laying Poppies on the lawn at the corner of Laton Road and St. Helens Park Rd.

Mon 23 Sept 2024 | Confirmations and ChristeningsBlacklands Church hosted the Bishop of Chichester and 11 members of our congregation and other local churches for their Confirmations and, in some cases, Christenings.After the service the Church hosted drinks and snacks in the Church Hall for all of those being celebrated and their families.

Sat 14 Sept 2024 | Ride & StrideThe Church took a very active role in the Sussex Historic Churches Trust Ride & Stride event this year after recieveing a generous grant for repairs to the Church this year.With parishioners welcoming participants at the Church to provide sustinence as well as others being sponsored to visit as many Churches as possible by foot and cycle, the Church raised over £2200 for the Trust.
